It all starts where we live and work.
At our roots, SECURE was founded on the principle of doing the right thing, for our customers, our people and our communities. Therefore, each and every year, we commit to reinvesting time and money into the communities in which we live and work. As an organization, we feel that these investments are some of the most important that we make. They represent our legacy as an organization as we live our purpose – delivering energy to the world so that people and communities can thrive.
In the last five years alone, SECURE has reinvested over $7.4 Million back into the communities throughout Western Canada and the US, supporting organizations such as the United Way, STARS Air Ambulance and KidSport.
Regardless of commodity cycles or economic factors out of our control SECURE remains committed to responsibly reinvest time and money back into the communities that welcomed and continue to support our business.
2020 was one of the most challenging years we have had to date regarding Community Investment, however now more then ever our communities and our people need us.
Here’s how we got creative around giving back in 2020 despite the global pandemic:
- Participated in safe micro volunteer initiatives that supported over 20 different charities and included a $15,000 matching corporate donation
- Developed a fundraiser with three (3) corporate partners in conjunction with two (2) local Calgary small businesses to create the first Raise a Glass to Raise Funds campaign helping to provide over $40,000 to three (3) frontline organizations
- Announced a five-year partnership with STARS Air Ambulance worth $100,000 to support our employees and their communities by providing access to urgent medical care in remote regions
- Raised $80,000 for the United Way of Calgary & Area through our annual United Way campaign, held entirely virtual
