SECURE is pleased to release our new Climate Action Plan, detailing the steps within our strategy of achieving the goal of net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050.

The Plan describes our overarching strategy to integrate climate considerations into our overall business strategy, risk management assessments, business models, and day-to-day operations.

On September 8, 2022, a group of 30 SECURE employees from across the company participated in the Doig River Waste Round-up at the Doig River First Nation (DRFN) northeast of Fort St. John, BC.

As outlined in SECURE’s environmental policy, we recognize the importance of being an environmentally responsible and considerate neighbour in the communities where we operate and engaging with local communities is a priority. SECURE employs environmental practices that support healthy, resilient, adaptive communities.

With September fast approaching, we prepare to send off our summer students.

SECURE's summer student program is designed to provide an experiential learning opportunity for students to apply the skills they are acquiring during their degree within a team of dedicated professionals.

This year, 31 students were hired across various business units in Alberta and British Columbia for a four-month work term. For most of the students, this was their first time working in a corporate environment.

SECURE set a freshwater usage reduction target of 5% in 2022.

As a part of SECURE’s initiative to reduce freshwater usage by 5% in 2022, the LaGlace Full Service Terminal (LGFST) has been working on reducing the amount of fresh water used in the facility's day-to-day operations. They have been working closely with Operations Projects to optimize and assess several parts of the facility to closely monitor their progress.
